As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, Chevrolet has had a strong partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) for over a decade. This week, Chevy announced they were renewing and increasing their partnership by becoming the Official Automotive Sponsor of not only Major League Baseball, but also USA Baseball’s Play Ball Initiative.

After a strong first season, USA Baseball’s Play Ball Initiative is continuing its effort to inspire girls and boys of every age group to play baseball and softball. As a huge supporter of youth baseball, Chevy makes a perfect sponsor. Over the past ten years, they have helped over 5.2 million youths get involved in baseball or softball by donating more than 90,000 equipment kits and renovating 9,400 parks.

Chevrolet’s agreement with the MLB will be a multi-year sponsorship in which Chevy will continue their sole category rights and presentation of baseball’s two prestigious awards including the Ted Williams All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award and the World Series Most Valuable Player Award.

“Chevrolet’s partnership with Major League Baseball is a natural fit and allows the brand and our dealers to connect with generations of Americans on a personal level through the support of hometown teams at both the professional and youth levels,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing.

It’s only fitting that America’s favorite car brand is paired with our nation’s favorite pastime. Play ball!
